The problem

Repair shops run on a shop-management system that's excellent at today's tickets and silent about the business. Owners and advisors were flying on gut feel: margins discovered at month-end, sales goals tracked on whiteboards, and the numbers that decide profitability — labor rates, parts margins, technician efficiency — buried where nobody could see them move.

Off-the-shelf reporting couldn't fix it. The data was there; the visibility wasn't.

The approach

I built a platform that plugs into the shop's existing system and pulls its data on an hourly heartbeat — no workflow changes, no double entry. On top of that live feed:

• Live dashboards for sales, gross profit, efficiency, and car count — the day's truth on one screen, with drill-downs to the underlying orders.
• Advisor goals & pace — weekly targets with live pace tracking, so the team knows where the week stands before Friday does.
• Shop-floor displays — kiosk views for the workfloor with the numbers that drive the day, updating on their own.
• An AI assistant built on Azure OpenAI that answers questions about the app and the shop's own knowledge base in plain English, routes people to the right screen, and hands off gracefully when it shouldn't answer.
• Production-grade operations — monitored, alerted, and backed up on Azure, with staging and production environments and uptime checks.

The result

Shop leadership sees margin and pace live instead of at month-end, advisors work toward visible goals, and the floor runs off the same numbers as the office. The platform is in production and growing feature by feature — each one earning its place.
